Howland, Eggen and Pitts Student Research

Howland, Eggen and Pitts Fellowship Endowed Fund

The Howland, Eggen and Pitts Fellowship Endowed Fund supports future Computer Science Student Summer Research. Such experiences allow students to work closely with faculty on a one-to-one basis, while learning the basics of conducting a formal research study, and breaking new ground in the field of computer science.

As part of their summer experience, students are also required to articulate their findings to fellow students as well as to faculty members and other audiences. In many cases, students will go on to publish their results in prestigious journals and present their findings at national and international meetings.

With these valuable experiences, students are learning how to think, convey their ideas, and push back the frontiers of knowledge – skills that will help them to succeed in life, regardless of their career and personal life paths.
