KRTU celebrates the discovery of Women in Jazz with Trinity alumna, KRTU host, and photojournalist Bria Woods. The weekly educational program promotes and champions the contribution of women and people of marginalized genders to jazz as creatives, songwriters, vocalists, instrumentalists, and bandleaders. The program features accomplishments by women/non-binary jazz musicians from across the nation, spanning many generations. With this program, KRTU inspires a confidence in voice and advocacy for women in the jazz field. You can listen to Bria Woods ’16 on air each Thursday evening from 8 – 9 PM.
We’re able to carefully curate playlists that inspire a new generation of creative thinkers and musicians with the generous support of our listeners and members. In celebration of Women in Jazz and the 1869 Challenge, we hope you will take this time to make an additional gift or increase your annual gift so that we can keep diverse programs like this on the air and accessible to everyone.
